Bare hull to finished boat... !

Here is all the info needed to build a Pro-Angler..

If you can build it cheaper or better than me ! Or you just want to have a go - GOOD LUCK !

bulletPro-Angler 19 bare hull in workshop ready for work. The hull should be set up square and level. The standard lay up of the bare hull is:
bullet  2x gell coats (Crystic 65PA isophtalic) Followed by a single layer of 1 oz (300g) CSM mat all over fallowed by a further 8ozs (2400g) CSM all over. The keel is then filled. Below the water-line is also a layer of quadrilateral woven roving with a further 2ozs (600g) of CSM mat on top of that. Crystic 446 resin is used throughout. The woven roving quadrilateral mat is very resistant to piercing making the bottom very difficult if not imposable to puncture in the event of sticking underwater objects. (If quaderlateral mat is not available use 1x600g CSM + 1x woven roving mat + 1x600g CSM + 1x woven roving mat followed by 1x600g CSM). A finished Pro-Angler 19 consists of (on average) 500kg (that's half a ton] of glass reinforcing, resin with wood and foam frames etc.
bulletJob 1 is to fill the keel. (We now use Fillite)..  ( SEE PIC 1 )
bulletNext job is to lay 6ozs (1800g) wet mat over keel and roll out well.. this then makes the keel a solid unit. ( SEE PIC 2 and 5 )

bulletMark out transom 12" each side and 19.5" from bottom. This is the basis for the engine mounting. SEE PIC 3 shows the marking out PIC 5 shows the inside of the transom after cutting)
bulletQuadrilateral mat 4' wide is laid crosswise across the hull (the joins will be under the frames which are also spaced at 4' centres at the same time 2ozs (600g) of CSM is laid on top of the quadrilateral mat. (all this below deck level which is just higher than waterline)
bulletNext job is to put in the main barer [keelson]. This is an 9" x 2" timber ( SEE PICS 7 and 8 ) in this case I used 3 off (3" x 2" planed) glued together and trimmed to 8"... The thickness was left at about 1.75"....

bulletPic 9 shows another Pro-Angler with the rest of the frames in place. These are simply levelled either side off the main central barer [keelson][. 6oz CSM lay up goes all over the framing bonding it in securely to the hull.
bulletPic 9 also shows the gunwale fitted! This is a really strong, inverted 'U' section, measuring just over 4" x 3" (100mm x 75mm Aprox). The lay up spec for this is: 2 x Crystic 65PA gell coats. Then 1x300g CSM followed by 16ozs (4800g) CSM in 3 seperate lay up sessions. The points where bollards or mooring cleats may be fixed are further reinforced with an extra 6ozs (1800g) CSM.
